It’s been a crazy last two months and I can’t believe it’s already June! I had a baby at the beginning of April so my reading has drastically slowed down. As I’m adjusting to my new normal I’ve started to read more but am still quite behind, so forgive me for the lack of book reviews these past two months. Let’s get to it!
Book of The Month Reads
4.5/5 Stars
- Romance
- Helen hasn’t seen Grant in 13 years, when their lives were turned upside down by a tragic accident that has linked them together forever
- Now in present day, they find themselves back in each others lives when they end up working together – but can they put the past behind them?
- Helen and Grant are both struggling to come to terms with the tragedy that happened so many years ago and also the new, complicated feelings they seem to have for each other
- This was a really emotional romance that had a lot of depth to it – which is why I enjoyed it so much
- I also want to mention that this book was spicy – much more than I was anticipating!
- Overall, I thought this was a great romance read and had a nice mix of lighthearted fun and more depth with a well-rounded story – highly recommend!
3.75/5 Stars
- Romance
- Justin and Emma have never met but share one thing in common: they are both cursed – everyone they go on a date with ends up finding their soulmate as soon as they break up
- When Emma slides into Justin’s DMs they concoct a plan to meet for the summer and start dating hoping to reverse the curse, but of course things get complicated when real feelings develop
- This book also has a lot of family dynamics on both sides that are a large part of the story
- The premise for this book was a bit too outlandish for me to really thoroughly enjoy, but it is also a really small part of the overall story
- If you have read Abby Jiminez before there are fun easter eggs to her prior books in this one but it can also be read as a standalone
- Overall, I liked this book but it was not one of my favorites!
That’s it for now! I am slowly working my way up to reading more and more each month so stay tuned for June’s roundup 🙂
